Initiatives for patients and consumers
Alphega Pharmacy runs a European programme of thematic and prevention campaigns throughout the year, in line with its ethical, advisory and service aims. Thematic campaigns are seasonal (usually monthly) and cover topical areas such as colds/flu, suncare and allergies, while prevention campaigns focus on year-round issues such as asthma and osteoporosis. For example, Alphega Pharmacy today runs an ongoing European Diabetes campaign in all its countries of operation.
The initiatives are mainly designed for the benefit of the patient and the consumer, but they also help reinforce the role of the pharmacy as an ethical provider of primary healthcare services. The Alphega Pharmacy Consumer magazine, currently issued in France and Italy, emphasises this positioning to consumers by providing an additional source of healthcare advice and information. Other promotional materials and merchandising tools used in support of the initiatives include tailored planograms, shop window posters, thematic displays, consumer magazines and leaflets. All this greatly assists in promoting product visibility and driving consumer purchases.
