A key aim of Alphega Pharmacy is to support its members in exceeding the healthcare expectations of its patients and consumers. Opportunities are available for manufacturers to raise their profile as experts in a disease area by sponsoring training and providing tools on pre-diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and patient compliance programmes. As well as encouraging sales, this helps improve pharmacists' competencies and knowledge of the product concerned. A Europe-wide e-learning programme was developed in conjunction with manufacturers on key issues such as smoking cessation, weight management and diabetes.
